Delighted to be here...
I have always wanted to be in a place where I would be able to help someone. I chose my college major right out of high school and have never looked back. Growing up and attending college in NW Ohio my first career jobs were in downtown Toledo. I truly enjoyed helping people through the Women, Infants and Children program (WIC) and also as a clinical Dietitian at the local hospital, but I always felt I could do more.
In 2010 my husband and I moved to Bend, Oregon and it is at this point where my passion for a healthy and active lifestyle has finally collided with my desire to help people. Though I have experience in many areas I am a large part of a wellness collaboration through NorthWest BOD and Aspire Physical Therapy. Through this collaboration I can work out in a beautiful gym, educate and train clients, helping everyone work towards wellness. My favorite role is being available to answer nutrition questions before, during and after the workouts. I do offer Zoom nutrition sessions as well.
I am competent in all disease state diets and utilize their food restrictions when necessary. According to research in my field where the most success lies, I focus heavily on intuitive eating and listening to your body. I am educated to work with you on any disease specific diet and modify for allergies/preferences/lifestyle. My specialties include kidney disease, maternal and childhood health, weight management and sports nutrition. I am also a NASM certified personal trainer and ACE group fitness instructor.
This is the perfect spot for me and I feel lucky everyday to finally have found a way to be helping people, it lights me up!
